Taxi No. 9 2 11

Today morning I was that the Prasadz IMAX, a local multiplex here in Hyderabad to watch Taxi No. 9 2 11. Heard a lot about the movie being a remake of an English movie, but hell was I in for a surprise.

The movie is very nicely made and the best part of the movie to me is that it is straight to the point and is of the incidents that happen within the span of 2 days ... one of the new age movies that hit u in u r face and are done with.

Set in the typical Mumbai (Bombay for the uninitiated), the movie takes you through two days of high packed tension (except for the last 10 minutes that I shall tell you about at the end of this blog). Nana Patekar is at his typical best, almost running away with the whole performance, but must give it to the rest of the crowd in the movie including John Abraham, Sameera Reddy and the other extras ;) (lol, I love this disguised bashing .. makes so much sense to me .. cos I really think that John and Sameera are disgusting the moment they talk .. meant for the ramp and ramp alone).

The movie to me, was more about the clash between two male (yes I said it right and I mean it) egos, one who refuses other's help cos he thinks that the whole world is against him (Nana Patekar) and another who is fueled by the rich man's son status. How these two get down to sorting their issues is what the movie revolves around.

Sure that Mumbaiyaas would love this movie cos the lingo is so much them. Just like I would love to have a movie with the Hyderabadi Lingo. The film is fast paced and exciting. I am not one for the regular Hindi movies which come with rules like everyone other than the villan should be happy, Hero and heroine have to be united at the end, Hero never dies, and other such corny rules. For most of the part of the movie, I was getting what I liked, no occurance of any of the above rules and many more such illogical ones, well atleast for the 2 hours and 50 minutes of the 3 hour long movie, well thats what happened.

But then, hell had to break loose ... just like how they spoiled Salaam Namaste with the ending, here too it had to be spoilt. The ending my friends SUCKS !! It was all ending perfectly to my tastes and likings, but then its an Indian movie and the hero cant be without a heroine rite. So what happens, John (hate refering to him as the hero, but hard luck on this one) has a small accident as he gets out of place with another car, Priyanka Chopra gets out of the car and after the initial outburst, they have the love at first sight experience. Well if I do ever get into an accident, I aint gonna fall in love with the girl who comes out of the car would I !! (God, if you have that as a plan for me ... please rephrase that .. this is too corny !!).

But all in all ... a real good movie. Liked the songs, liked the pace of the movie and most of all Nana Patekar :) I would give the movie a 7.5 out of 10 :)

Cheers !!

A new day, a new life ...

Waking up from a long slumber .. sorry on that folks, just havent had the intiative to get up and get down to blogging. Hmmm whats happend since the last time I blogged, lets see, I am now part of a church band that sings gospel rock (major kick ass) and ahh .. well we bought a grandfathers clock.

Got up today in the morning and as you would notice in the picture, am evidently still a wee bit way lagged on the sleep. Just thought that I should get this pic up for you guys. This is my typical outfit, a tshirt and possibly the shortest shorts that I can get on. It leaves me so comfortable.

Sundays are meant for lazing around (Even God did that dint he ;) and ever since I have moved to Deloitte, my weekend starts right from saturday (Friday 11PM to be precise). Getting up late from bed (thats like 8 AM) and then lazing around, watching TV and doing stuff at home and finally the bath session at 4 in the evenning before I get out for the evening. Life sure has changed out for me .. and me am sure for the better.

Leaving you with this though, the Indian budget has this time raised the service tax from 10% to 12%, me thinks that the police chaps also should charge service tax for every time they take rishwat !! After all they are also giving us a service of not having to go to the police station rite ... what say ;)
